I think probably my favourite restaurant is an Indian about half an hour from me. It is a Keralan Indian, and the reason why I love it is of course the food. They do a sort of deconstructed onion bhaji, that is free strands of onion. They also do a milk appam, which is delicious: really sweet coconut pancakes. In terms of mains, they do a very nice vendakka mappas, which is a lovely curry with ladies' fingers.
Basically, it's delicious!
I could also list the Eye Falafel stand in Petticoat Lane market in London. The falafel wraps are delicious, generously sized, and very cheap (only £5!). The staff are very friendly too and recognise me whenever I go.
