These are photos from Cheddar Gorge, which I visited back in November 2022. I'm honestly not sure if I enjoyed it. To get to the gorge, one has to walk through a massive tourist district, peddling chips and cheese (of course), ice cream and various knick-knacks. It felt depressing. Then you get to the Gorge, and there is a great eyesore of a road riding through the beauty. It feels like a place corrupted by man - and frankly, I was part of the problem, wasn't I? I bought chips on my way out as well. And they were quite good.
Generally, I would recommend going, but it's depressing as anything. Cheddar is a "town" that is (like many British towns) heavy on its car usage, and is full of tourists. Public transport is lacking - the bus I got from Draycott where I stayed came once an hour at best, and not at all on weekends, and only between ten-to-nine and four. And the people avoid eye-contact, and shudder the thought of smiling at people you pass by. It's just like the bigger cities. Depressing. Draycott was a nice place though. People were striking up conversations at the bus stop.
Anyways. The photos are a little out of focus, because I apparently forgot how to use a camera whilst here. Hope they are alright anyways.
